Nature Explorers Colorado

A NEW camp is coming to Highlands Ranch, Colorado for three days only! Amalia spent ten years of her childhood living in Colorado, and taught her first Wildlife Ecology class at Outdoor Education Laboratory School in Mt. Evans as a sophomore in High School. She is excited to return to the community to offer a Nature Explorers program June 4-6, 2018. The day camp will be for ages 4-10 from 9am to 4pm, with half-day and extended care options available. Meagan Kyle, whom holds a Master in special education, will be assisting, and children will be divided into groups according to age range for some activities.

Amalia, has a Master of Science in ecological leadership and education. Her bachelor’s is in environmental studies with minors in marine science and anthropology. She has worked with children in 22 countries on five continents, currently lives in Michigan, and grew up in Colorado. She founded Nature Explorers International (NEI) with the mission to: inspire excitement and curiosity for the environment through art, science, and outdoor experiences. Amalia recently published a coloring field guide on Michigan wildlife and is working on the Colorado version.

This environmental education experience will engage young learners through games, art, science, songs, stories, and nature walks. An early introduction to biology increases children’s curiosity and understanding of the natural world. Each day will feature a different environmental theme, and participants can choose to come for a day, half-day, or for all three days. Camp will be located at the pavilion at Spring Gulch Park in Highlands Ranch, at 9920 Silver Maple Road.
